Book Review: THE TRAIN GUY by Michelle Prak

ABOUT THE BOOK

Charli is obsessed with The Train Guy.

She sees him every weekday waiting for the 8.05am from Roselea Station. She's convinced he's the man for her, but Charli is too terrified to introduce herself - look what happened, when she was brave with Eddie. Now she's newly single and needs to take in tenants to help pay the mortgage.

The Train Guy would never hurt her. He's too chivalrous and handsome. He's perfect.

Isn't he?

Part rom-com, part chase, The Train Guy is the metropolitan love story you've been searching for.

MY THOUGHTS

THE TRAIN GUY by Michelle Prak is such a fun read! I loved spending time inside Charli Reid’s mind. Her curiosity about her fellow commuters, her lusting after one of them (The Train Guy), her daydreaming about their fantasy future life, plus all the weird and wacky random thoughts going through her mind had me laughing often.

However it’s not all fun and games. Charli’s feeling lost; stability’s important to her and right now, both her personal life and professional life is on somewhat shaky ground. The Train Guy not only represents a solution to her loneliness, he’s something that she needs to strive for, to push herself out of her box for. I really enjoyed Charli’s journey as she braved her insecurities to reach out for the things she wanted.

Overall a fun, light and inspiring read.
