Can a summer fling become the love of a lifetime?

Perpetual good girl Caterina Longo is dependable to a fault. At 33, she’s never called in sick. Never had a one-night stand. Never taken a chance in her entire life. When she walks in on a cheating ex and sees everything wrong with her life, she takes off on a solo vacation, busting out of her comfort zone and into the arms of a guy she never saw coming.

Joe Hunter has no room for distractions. Making his restaurant a success and proving his worth to his family—and himself—is his sole focus. At least it is until a beautiful stranger, in search of fried food and a shoulder, wanders in one night.

Is two weeks of unexpected, life-altering passion all they’re meant to share? What happens when vacation ends and real life takes over?

“Those summer niiiiii – iigghhhhhts”

“Tell me more, tell me mooooore!!!”

I love the movie Grease but who knew references to the movie would further increase my enjoyment of a book? Not me. And yet, so it was proved in Stephanie Rose’s NO VACANCY. It’s an all-round enjoyable book. It’s sweet. It’s sincere. The steam factor is high. And you just want to jump right into the book and do what you can to make sure Caterina and Joe end up together.

It’s certainly not all sugar and lightness, because beyond this intense late-summer fling, we have a couple who make the decision to try a long distance relationship. I really enjoyed this aspect of the book. It was a time when both Caterina and Joe had to really dig deep to not only fight for their relationship, but it meant having to confront their own long-held attitudes about life issues.

As intense as some of the topics are, the book is written with a lightness that doesn’t mire it into a pool of angst. It’s always upbeat, uplifting and incredibly romantic.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
