My Thoughts
RESTORED DREAMS is a perfect example of why I prefer mature
characters in my romances. These characters have lived. Circumstance and choice
have taken them down their pathway and importantly, they understand there is no
going back. But for the lucky few, there is a second chance for those willing
to reach out and make peace with the past.
And that’s where Brut Paige and Lily Warren find themselves.
More than twenty years have passed since Brut betrayed Lily. The fallout had a significant
impact on them both not only at the time but it carries on through to the
present day.
I loved that Brut and Lily were mature enough to understand
that the past could not be swept away. Things needed to be said. Apologies needed
to be made. Forgiveness is needed to move on. Most of all I loved that both of
them were prepared to fight for this second chance by being vulnerable and
honest with each other while grounded in reality. This sense of realism Dunbar
brings in telling these stories is one of the many things I enjoy about her
books.
Brut and Lily are definitely hot between the sheets, and
Dunbar provides plenty of steamy scenes but I most appreciated that after
decades without each other, Brut and Lily were filled with the contentedness
that finding “your” person brings.
For all the heartache addressed in this book, overall I
found it to be an uplifting, steam-filled romantic read. RESTORED DREAMS may be
my favourite book in the Sexy Silver Foxes series to date, but I highly recommend
reading them all.
