My Thoughts
Jessica Peterson’s version of the British Royal Family
definitely needs help in the romantic stakes. This time around it’s Prince
Robert.
Rob may be part of the Royal family, but as the “spare”
heir, we get a book that focuses on a private individual. This is something
that I enjoyed because Rob and Aly’s story is easily transferable to ordinary people.
It made both the characters more relatable.
As the Best Man and Maid of Honour in the upcoming wedding
of Crown Prince Kit and Emily, Rob and Aly find themselves spending a lot of
time together. It’s an awkward situation since Rob and Aly’s secret “friends with
benefits” relationship is a thing of the past. Aly is looking for a life
partner and Rob is definitely not interested.
With sex off the agenda, Rob and Aly find themselves
talking, debating, arguing and bickering. The sparks are flying but more
importantly, they are getting to know a different side to each other and are
questioning some of their own personal long held beliefs.
I really enjoyed reading about their time together and I was
impressed with how Rob handled himself. For a man who claims he has no interest
in a monogamous relationship, he is very good at it when Aly is the woman in
question.
Royal Rebel is an easygoing read that offers a couple of
hours of fun and escapism.
