A Shameless Little Lie is book two in Meli Raine’s Shameless
series and continues the story of Jane Borokov and Silas Gentian.
It’s been two months since I read the first book and I did
worry that I would forget some of the back story. Surprisingly, I did manage to
recall much of it but I think overall I would have preferred less time between
the books.
Jane’s notoriety increases to stratospheric levels but with
Silas by her side, there is some comfort to be had from the bleakness that is
her life.
Outside forces present plenty of twists and turns but this
book was more about Jane and Silas’ developing romantic relationship. I enjoyed
getting to know more about Silas and the chemistry between the characters is hot.
I felt there were some slower sections in the book; there
were some highly poetic and overly philosophical passages of prose.
Again, Raine finishes the book with a brilliant cliffhanger.
Bring on book three!
