My Thoughts
First, check out the cover! It’s so appealing and fits right in with the comic themes in the book.
This is the story of Nass-the-Ass and Pop Tart... erm, Leo and Poppy. Acquaintances since childhood. Enemies for years; mortal enemies since Nass-the-Ass ruined Poppy’s Happy Ever After by convincing her groom-to-be not to take the trip to the altar. And if life could get worse, it does when Poppy finds herself planning the wedding of her ex- fiancé and her ex-best friend.
This was such a fun book to read. While Poppy is trying to save her career, Leo, her nemesis, is constantly hovering, teasing, taunting, invading her space, “fixing” her vibrators, and slowly eroding her hearing with is almighty snoring. As these two wage war in this enemies-to-lovers story, they have some incredibly funny conversations and experiences. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments...and oh my, the grumpy cat. The grumpy cat!
As the story approaches the date of the best Worst Wedding ever (well, likely ever), Leo and Poppy find themselves working together to make it all happen for the “happy” couple that neither of them actually like. But hey, that’s what friends are for. And with friends like this...
This book definitely brightened my day and I will be reading more of Carmen’s books. I am excited that she’s also an Aussie. I love discovering new-to-me Aussie romance authors.
