Talk about opposites attracting!
Ethan was such a down to earth hero. He was a man trying to
do his best to juggle being a single dad, working hard on his ranch and trying
to keep his head above water financially.
Tori’s self belief has taken a beating. She has made poor
choices with the men in her life and is struggling with other aspects in her
life. She is stuck and doesn’t know how, or which direction, to move.
Ethan and Tori’s definitely rub each other the wrong way when
they first meet. Necessity makes them agree to an employer/employee
relationship. As time goes, attraction overrides their initial animosity, and
both Ethan and Tori discover it’s not just about the physical but they actually
like each other as people and learn they can depend on each other.
There are plenty of secondary characters with their own stories
but they never overshadow Ethan and Tori. Ethan’s kids are delightful and you
know the writing is good when an author can covey a child’s confusion and
feelings in the context of divorcing and absent parents.
This book is well paced with a nice balance of romantic
times, sexy times and dramatic times.
